You do not have to say words to pray

One way to pray is to say words out loud, or quietly inside. But there are other ways.

Physical prayer is when you do something to help you to be with God.

You can light a candle.   Or watch someone else light a candle.

Stop and be quiet.  Breathe in.  Push the button, or flick the match.  Put it to the candle.  Watch as it catches.   See the light.  Feel the heat.   Be there.

God wants you to be safe.  So, when it is time, put the candle out, so it does not make a fire.

After the candle is out, remember the light, the warmth, the power.

This website is all about praying with candles.  But there are other physical prayers, too.

You can go for a walk in a holy place, eg in a church or a graveyard.

Is there is a church-song or hymn that makes you feel close to God, but you don't know all the words?   Hum some of the the tune.  Or play it on a guitar, or piano or ...

Is there a picture that makes you think of goodness or peace?  Sit and look at it.

Do you see someone who looks lonely?  Smile at them.

Doing something holy is a good way to pray
